Calderstones Exhibition
As you probably know, the Calderstones exhibition was rained off halfway through. As far as we know no paintings were damaged and the exhibition was getting good attendances and comments up to the deluge.
West Lancs Open.
Both Paul Gatenby and Mike Hajoulis both got prizes in the show, Paul getting second and Mike Third prize. Well done to both of them.
Deeside Arts Group
While we are about it I may as well blow my own trumpet as no one else will and say that I got a prize for best painting in the recent DAG show.
Another painting of mine has also been picked as the Editors Choice of The Leisure Painter magazine for September.
Liver Sketching Club and the Liverpool Biannual.
This year the Biennial returns to Liverpool – and the club will be involved in the ‘Independents’ part of the events.
On 17 September there will be an Open Studio and Exhibition from 5pm to 10pm. As well as being able to see our studio, visitors will see an exhibition of our work in the Corridor Gallery.
There will be another Open Studio and Exhibition on 18 November.
From 20 September to the end of the Biennial, there will be a changing exhibition in the Corridor Gallery.
All of these events will be published in the exhibition guide being produced by the Biennial/Independents and on the various websites.
The Committee will be asking members to submit work for these events. Watch out for more information in future Newsletters and information on the studio notice board.
Wirral Artists and Friends:
Again as part of the Biennial/Independents events, there will be three exhibitions by Wirral Artists at the Six Rooms Gallery, Birkenhead [on the corner of Hamilton Square].
Exhibition 1: Tuesday 14th September 2010 – Tuesday 5th October 2010
Exhibition 2: Friday 8th October 2010 – Sunday 31st October 2010
Exhibition 3: Thursday 4th November – Sunday 28th November 2010
Club member David Brown is in the second exhibition. Watch out for details of the private view on the studio notice board.
